Kate Lockley is a young, skeptical detective for the Los Angeles Police Department who is drawn into the supernatural world of Angel. She is initially reluctant to believe in the existence of demons and vampires, but she gradually becomes more hardened as she learns the truth. Lockley is a strong and capable woman who is not afraid to stand up for what she believes in. She is also a loyal friend and ally to Angel.
